3. How to Calculate the Cost
BDWriter links to over 200 state-of-the-art models via OpenRouter. We bill you transparently based on actual usage (tokens) processed by AI providers, with absolutely no hidden fees.
Understanding Tokens
AI models measure text in Tokens. As a rule of thumb, 1 token is roughly 4 characters in English, or about 0.75 words. A 1,000-word post utilizes roughly 1,300 to 1,500 tokens of output plus any background context instructions (input tokens).
BDT (৳) Conversion Formula
OpenRouter rates are priced in USD per 1,000 tokens. BDWriter converts this to local BDT (৳) balances using a standard multiplier that covers current exchange rates and platform processing:
- 126: Standard exchange rate of USD to Bangladeshi Taka.
- 1.15: 15% platform surcharge to offset hosting, prompt-engineering pipelines, and API transaction overhead.
